General Statement of Job

The MOSO CAPS Strand Coordinator will develop, manage, implement, and evaluate the internship program, related content curriculum, and professional skills program. Additionally, the Strand Coordinator will work collaboratively with the university, district, and industry partners to acquire, retain, grow, and coordinate industry projects, internship opportunities, guest speakers, expert curriculum developers and program donors.

Essential Duties

  • Implement the MOSO CAPS program with students enrolled in assigned Strand; teaching professional skills and job-related content, coordinating projects with industry partners, and monitoring internships.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with industry partners for the assigned strand and continue partnering for professional projects and internship experiences.
  • Monitor changes and/or additions in the strand's curriculum in terms of content taught, mentors, internships, industry partner projects, and speakers to ensure course objectives are achieved, and performance is maximized.
  • Review the industry project/internship handbook with students and industry partners to convey information required to accomplish assigned functions.
  • Help establish new business partners for participation in projects/internships, serving as a guest speaker and/or as a guest instructor.
  • Keep track of client projects, strand activities, and internship information for the purpose of documenting the MOSO CAPS program and conveying information between industry partners, district partners, and MSSU.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders on the expansion needs of the program, as needed.
  • Seek formal feedback through an evaluation form from industry partners for internships and client projects.
  • Help manage the process to place students with industry partners for appropriate project and/or internship opportunities.
  • Implement a recognition program for formally recognizing industry partners and community involvement for their support of a MOSO CAPS program strand.
  • Coordinate the dual enrollment programming between the MOSO CAPS students and district partners.
  • Revise, as necessary, course description guide for a MOSO CAPS Strand.
  • Attend meetings as needed. This may include a three-day Summer Huddle held each summer in June or July.
  • Field communication as the strand liaison between the district and MOSO CAPS administration.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Education, Experience, and Licenses

Bachelor's Degree required and a Bachelor's + 18 hours or Master's Degree from an accredited four-year college or university in a strongly related field is preferred.
