What you'll do...

The Sourcing Director serves as the senior strategic leader of the Global Sourcing team, supporting business units and H&R Block leadership as an advocate for critical sourcing-related objectives. The Sourcing Director will assist in developing and implementing a strategic vision for the team across H&R Block business units.

This role ensures that sourcing objectives and initiatives are aligned with the H&R Block efforts to meet strategic goals related to cost savings, risk management, profit, and growth. A successful candidate will have deep sourcing-related experience and strong management credentials. This individual will be focused on delivering value to internal and external stakeholders so that the sourcing team is actively sought out as a strategic partner.

The Sourcing Director will lead H&R Block's evolution toward best-in-class sourcing capabilities by implementing an operating model where strategic sourcing and supplier management activities are driven from a company-wide perspective. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to lead at all levels of the company will help this person to be successful in this role.

Day to day, you'll…

  • Collaborate with senior leadership to establish short-term and long-term sourcing strategies and objectives
  • Lead H&R Block's strategic sourcing program and support complex sourcing efforts with preferred and high-value vendors
  • Manage spend analytics across Sourcing team; use data to influence change with partners and build strong ROI cases
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with H&R Block leadership and strategic supplier partners
  • Direct management of H&R Block Sourcing team, with primary management responsibility of Category Leaders and Category Managers
  • Drive the Sourcing team's engagement across H&R Block
  • Develop and maintains strong relationships with business unit leadership and strategic suppliers
  • Communicate strategies, goals, challenges, and results to H&R Block leadership team
  • Build a best-in-class sourcing organization by hiring, developing, and retaining top talent
  • Perform other duties as assigned and tactical responsibilities required by the role to ensure smooth and efficient operation of the department

  • Expert understanding of multi-step strategic sourcing processes and advanced sourcing tools and strategies
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills; capable of persuading and influencing others within H&R Block's business units
  • Capable of coordinating efforts across business units and sharing critical information, with particular strength in explaining complex concepts and coaching individuals through complex decision-making
  • Strategic thinker and visionary
  • Comfortable with organizational change; able to thrive in a rapidly changing business environment
  • Skilled at mentoring and developing other employees
  • Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to lead and manage teams and develop personnel

It would be even better if you also had...

  • Bachelor's degree is required, MBA is desirable
  • 12+ years of experience in Sourcing related roles including strategic sourcing and supply chain management
  • Demonstrated management capabilities leading strategic initiatives, driving performance, leading change efforts and producing superior results
  • Excellent communication skills, an ability to work effectively with people at all levels, and the ability to effectively lead/motivate others

Pay Range Information

The pay range for this position is listed below. Local minimum wage laws apply. This information is posted pursuant to local requirements to provide applicants with information about what they might be eligible to receive. Individual pay decisions will depend on job-related factors such as experience, education, skill, performance, and geographic location where work will be performed. Successful candidates may be able to participate in one or more incentive compensation or short-term incentive plans, which could generate additional earnings in accordance with the terms of each plan. Qualifying associates can enroll themselves and/or their eligible dependents in medical and prescription drug coverage; can participate in the H&R Block Retirement Savings Plan (401(k) Plan), the Employee Assistance Program, (virtual) fitness center programs, and the associate discount program; are automatically enrolled in Business Travel Accident Insurance; and receive Associate Tax Prep benefit.

Pay Range

$119,000.00 - $202,000.00/Yr.
