Our programs focus on housing, employment, education, legal assistance, and cultural adaptation, ensuring individuals and families have the resources to become thriving, contributing residents and eventually citizens. Position Overview
The President & CEO serves as the chief executive of the organization, providing visionary leadership, strategic direction, and operational oversight to fulfill its mission. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the CEO oversees strategic operations, fundraising, partnerships, and program development, ensuring sustainability, effectiveness, and responsiveness to the needs of refugees, immigrants, and the community.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership & Vision
- Develop and execute a strategic plan aligned with the organization's mission, maintaining political neutrality in all activities.
- Serve as the primary spokesperson, emphasizing the humanitarian and economic benefits of supporting refugees and immigrants.
- Cultivate a culture of respect and evidence-based advocacy to foster trust among stakeholders.
- Ensure adaptability to evolving immigration policies and community needs while remaining committed to empowering refugees and immigrants in Missouri and the region.
Operational & Program Management
- Oversee the design and implementation of programs assisting with housing, employment, language, cultural, healthcare, and legal support.
- Ensure programs are mission-driven, impactful, and compliant with funding requirements.
- Set measurable goals and evaluate outcomes regularly.
- Build partnerships with local agencies and organizations to enhance services.
Fundraising & Financial Management
- Lead diversified fundraising efforts including donations, sponsorships, grants, and government support.
- Ensure financial stability and transparency, maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements.
Advocacy & Policy Engagement
- Advocate for policies supporting refugee integration and economic self-sufficiency.
- Develop relationships with policymakers and collaborate with organizations to share best practices.
- Educate the public on the contributions of refugees and immigrants.
Community Engagement & Public Relations
- Foster understanding and support among community groups, businesses, and government.
- Represent the organization publicly, maintaining a neutral, compassionate message.
- Develop campaigns to raise awareness of refugee challenges and successes.
Team Leadership
- Work with the Board to develop governance policies.
- Lead and develop a high-performing team committed to the organization's values.
- Promote a collaborative, ethical, and impactful workplace culture.
Qualifications & Experience
- Strong commitment to refugee and immigrant rights and community empowerment.
- Bachelor's degree in relevant fields.
- 10+ years of leadership in nonprofit, government, or related sectors.
- Proven fundraising, financial, and strategic planning experience.
- Excellent advocacy, public speaking, and relationship-building skills.
- Experience in scaling community-based programs, especially for refugees and immigrants.
- Adaptability to changing policies and funding landscapes.
