Summary/Objective
The Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing maintenance and repair of machinery and equipment within the manufacturing facility. Managing a team of maintenance technicians, this role requires strong problem-solving and organizational skills to ensure efficient operation of the maintenance team and production processes. As hands-on manager, oversees and potentially performs installations, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining production and facility equipment.

  • Manage day-to-day operations of maintenance department personnel and operations.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities comply with health and safety regulations.
  • Conduct evaluations to determine maintenance or repairs that need to be performed.
  • Assess repairs and projects to plan work assignments and project schedules.
  • Assist with departmental budget estimates and costs of specific repair projects.
  • Develop preventative maintenance procedures and schedules.
  • Ensure maintenance and repair work is completed correctly and in a timely manner.
  • Using diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, and manufacturers specifications, may repair and maintain machinery and mechanical equipment, such as engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems and production machines using hand-tools, power tools and precision measuring and testing instruments.
  • Ensure CNC machines & automation machines are a top priority for repairs.
  • Repair or replace defective parts, using hand-tools and power tools.
  • Inspect electrical wiring, switches and controls for safe operating conditions, grounding and adjustment, following regulations and repair manuals.
  • Direct team to fully utilize maintenance management software including PM's, OPM's, inventory control and maintenance work orders.

Supervisory Responsibility
  • Organizes and oversees the schedules and work of maintenance staff.
  • Interviews, hires and evaluates maintenance department staff.
  • Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
  • Addresses corrective actions as needed.
Required Education and Experience
  • Associates degree in mechanical, electrical or industrial maintenance
  • 4+ years of manufacturing experience; strong hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical and industrial skills with some PLC experience and HVAC.
Preferred Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical or industrial maintenance or equivalent experience.
  • Previous supervisor or management of a manufacturing maintenance department.
  • Evaluating systems or facilities to determine needed maintenance or repairs.
  • Experience assessing and planning work assignments and project schedules.
  • Industrial ovens, carpentry and 3-phase electrical experience.
